Can't blog, must play God of War II.

This game is currently ruining me for more lofty pursuits. I should be practicing my belly dance, reading, altering my costumes so I can get the pictures I've been promising, and all I want to do right now is whomp Euryale's ass. Much as I hate to link to Penny Arcade, mainly because Chris will gloat at me for months for linking to his favorite comic when usually I loudly denounce it as lame, this one sums it up nicely. And this is just amusing. :)

Sorry! More interesting posts, pictures, etc. after I beat the game. :) Honest!

Happy Pi Day!

3.14.2007

It's like Christmas for geeks! Except it isn't tied to any religions and you don't have to put up with annoying music or decorations and you don't get any presents and you don't get the day off and nobody feels obligated to be nicer than usual and it's a weekday so it's not even a good day for a party. But in all other respects it is exactly like Christmas.

BUT there is one wonderful occurence that happens to coincide with Pi Day -- "God of War II" comes out. Mmmm, tasty Spartan violence, and much better than the "300" version. Chris already picked me up a copy so I will be shunking Medusa guts in a couple of hours, directly after my soothing Yoga class. What irony? ;-)

The things it takes to discover you're a superhero.

I had a bit of a rough morning. If you're wondering why I'm posting a blog about my experiences with vomiting, well, I can't blame you, but what kind of friend would I be if I only shared the good and didn't disgust you with the bad? Hmm?

So, I woke up at 5:30 this morning, and immediately had that "oh shit, it's not going to be a good morning" feeling. Sure enough, five minutes later and I was hanging head down over the toilet. Here is the sequence of what came out of me this morning, all between 5:30 and roughly noon:

1. half of last night's dinner
2. most of the rest of last night's dinner
3. the remainder of last night's dinner
4. brown foam
5. brown foam with a bit of last night's dinner that escaped prior upchuckings
6. brown foam
Here's where it gets interesting.
7. brown foam + neon green goo
8. neon green goo
9. neon green goo
10. neon green goo
11. neon green goo

My first thought after noticing the bizarre color of my heavings was "Hey! I've been slimed!" (Well, after "uuhhggghaarrgghh," of course.) It appears Slimer has either taken up residence in my lower GI tract or else has been taking advantage of me in my sleep. But what if it's all me? What if I've had nuclear radioactive powers hiding in my small intestine this whole time? So of course the only conclusion I can come to is that I AM RADIOACTIVE GUT WOMAN! (name subject to change.)

I suppose my methods of saving the day will necessarily be somewhat awkward, but, y'know, details. My outfit will of course be neon green, and my supertough logo in the midst of my chest will be a glowing esophagus? Maybe? Hmmm, I'm going to have to put more thought into this.

Hope you didn't read this just before lunch. :)

I made this!

Anyone who used to watch "X-Files" will get the voice that was meant to invoke. :)

Anyway, I finally finished my outfit -- I think all that remains is adding some glitzy stuff to the bra, but it's done enough. It's imperfect but not bad for a first project, especially one that was really fairly difficult for a n00b -- silk? Darts? Fitted seams? Lookit me go!
